Saarthi ("we", "our", "us") operates the Saarthi mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our ride-sharing platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Phone number, name, and profile photo provided during registration.
Identity Documents: Government-issued ID and vehicle registration documents for driver verification.
Vehicle Information: Vehicle details including registration number, model, and photos.
Trip Information: Source and destination locations, departure times, and ride preferences.
Payment Information: UPI IDs and QR images you provide for payments between ride partners. A free subscription trial does not require subscription payment details and does not automatically charge you. Paid subscription checkout is currently unavailable; when enabled, Razorpay processes subscription transactions. We do not store your card details.
Device Information: Device tokens for push notifications.
Usage and Diagnostics: Firebase Analytics collects app usage events and device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID when available. Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports, device and app information, and diagnostic data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To match riders with drivers and facilitate ride-sharing.
To process payments for subscription packages.
To send push notifications about ride requests, trip updates, and important announcements.
To verify driver identity and vehicle ownership for safety.
To manage the affiliate referral program.
To understand app usage, diagnose crashes, and improve app performance and reliability.

3. Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following cases:

With Ride Partners: Your name, phone number, and vehicle details are shared with matched riders/drivers to facilitate the ride.
Service Providers: Google Firebase processes app data to provide authentication, storage, messaging, analytics, and crash diagnostics.
Payment Processor: When paid checkout is enabled and you choose to make a subscription payment, payment data is shared with Razorpay for transaction processing. Razorpay's privacy policy applies to payment data handling.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and access controls to protect your information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Identity documents are retained for verification purposes. You can delete your account in the app or request deletion through our account deletion page. Deletion removes your profile, uploaded files, identity documents, vehicles, ride requests, reviews, and notification copies. Trip records remain for ride partners' history with your contact details removed. Payment and payout records remain for reconciliation and to prevent payment reuse. A deletion-status record prevents delayed account events from recreating your profile.

6. Your Rights

Access your personal data stored with us.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Opt out of non-essential notifications.

7. Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services that may collect data:

Google Firebase: Authentication, database, storage, cloud messaging, Analytics, and Crashlytics. See Firebase's privacy information.
Razorpay: Subscription payment processing when paid checkout is enabled.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by other means.
